Francis Paua: Master Barber, Educator, and the Craft Behind CADMEN

Francis Paua has been a professional barber for 25 years. He did not become one through a school program alone. He built a career by working on real clients, daily, through the full arc of what the trade can look like: from barbershop floors to training sessions with athletes, from running award-winning shops to teaching the next generation of barbers who now work and teach across North America.

He is the co-founder and lead educator at CADMEN Barber Academy in Mississauga, Ontario. He teaches every intensive training session personally.

The Professional Record

Francis's client list over his career includes professional athletes from the NBA, NFL, NHL, TFC, and CFL. He has worked with athletes at every level of professional sport in North America.

He has trained barbers who now teach internationally, including for global brands in the professional hair care industry.

He has been a member of the BaByliss Pro Barberology Team, participating in industry events and trade demonstrations across Canada.

He is a competitor. He has represented at industry events, not as a demonstrator but as someone who works in the trade at the highest level and has chosen to teach alongside it.

What He Built With CADMEN

Francis and Marina Victoria co-founded CADMEN Group of Brands. Together they built multiple award-winning barbershop locations across the Greater Toronto Area.

Those locations served over 20,000 clients. They accumulated more than 1,000 five-star Google reviews. They ran 30,000+ services per year across the network.

CADMEN completed a full franchise development process, including a Franchise Disclosure Document and the full operational system required to replicate the brand across Canada. Francis was the credibility that made that system worth replicating: his name, his reputation, and his training standards were the foundation the brand was built on.

Why He Teaches the Way He Does

CADMEN's training format, 3 students maximum per session, approximately 10 live haircuts per student over 2 days, no mannequin phases, is a deliberate choice based on how Francis learned and how he has watched barbers develop over his career.

The fade does not become consistent from watching demonstrations. It becomes consistent from being corrected on the same error enough times that the correction becomes automatic. That only happens when a master barber is close enough to see what is wrong on every pass and say it out loud while the student's hands are still moving.

The small class format is not a business model choice. It is a teaching philosophy. Francis could fill larger classes. He does not because larger classes mean less feedback per student, and less feedback per student means slower skill development. The format exists to protect the quality of instruction.

What Students Say About Training With Francis

The consistent theme in feedback from CADMEN students is not about what Francis demonstrated. It is about what he saw that they could not see themselves. The off angle. The pressure inconsistency. The flick that was 10% too slow to produce a clean blend. The errors that self-directed practice would not have surfaced because the student did not know they were making them.

That is what 25 years in the trade produces: the ability to identify the specific error in a specific person's technique at the specific moment it is happening.
