Barber Training Without Going to School | CADMEN Barber Academy
Barber Training Without School
Not everyone who wants to cut hair wants to sit through a long licensing program first. There is a faster way to build real skill.
Private hands-on training focuses on the cutting, not the paperwork. CADMEN Barber Academy teaches fades, beards, and scissor work on live models in classes capped at three students.
What the training gives you
- Skill-first training with real haircuts from the start
- Small classes, three students at most, for direct coaching
- Working barbers as instructors, anchored by co-founder Francis Paua
- Online barbershop business coaching when you are ready to own a shop
Licensing, stated plainly
Ontario regulates hairstyling as a skilled trade with an apprenticeship path and a Certificate of Qualification. Barbering skill itself can be learned privately. CADMEN Barber Academy is a private training studio. It does not grant a hairstyling licence, Skilled Trades Ontario apprenticeship hours, or a registered career college credential. If your goal is the provincial certificate, you earn that through the apprenticeship and exam process. If your goal is to cut hair well and start working or building a client base, private hands-on training puts you on real heads fast.
Common questions
Can I really learn barbering without a school program?
You can build strong cutting skill through focused hands-on practice on real heads with a working barber correcting you. That is what private training provides.
What about the provincial certificate?
That comes from the apprenticeship and exam path and is separate from private skill training. Many barbers build skill and a client base first, then decide on certification.
Who teaches the classes?
Working barbers, anchored by co-founder Francis Paua, who has 25 years in the trade and has cut for pro athletes across several leagues.
