Starting a barber course can feel less uncertain when you know what to ask before arriving. Begin with a clear description of your experience, even if that experience is none. Choose a course around a specific learning goal and check the details that affect how you will practise.

Can a beginner enquire about CADMEN training?

Yes. CADMEN’s current training page invites beginners to describe their starting experience so the team can help them choose a suitable course. Working barbers can also enquire about practising a particular skill. Ask the coordinator to explain why a recommended course suits your needs.

Fade, beard and scissors courses are separate bookings. The fade course runs over two days and includes demonstrations, supervised practice on live models and educator feedback. Confirm the content and schedule of a beard or scissors course directly; do not assume that buying one course includes all three subjects.

What should you ask about practice?

Ask how the educator will demonstrate a technique and observe you trying it. If a step is unfamiliar, request an explanation before proceeding. Bring questions about tool control, the sequence being demonstrated or how to recognize when you need assistance.

CADMEN offers small groups of up to three students and one-on-one training. Tools are available to use in class, and models are arranged for fade training. Confirm any preparation for your selected course. There is no reason to turn those arrangements into a promise that every student will complete an identical number of haircuts.

How can you use feedback afterwards?

Ask for a short list of priorities to work on after class. Write down what you were shown, which part you found difficult and the correction suggested by the educator. Use those notes when arranging further supervised practice or discussing your next training step.

Do not judge your progress only by speed or attendance. Ask for help assessing the work itself and deciding what you are ready to attempt. A course ending on a particular date does not establish that every participant can safely work independently.

Does the certificate qualify you for paid work?

CADMEN provides its own course completion certificate. In Ontario, Hairstylist is a compulsory trade with a separate authorization framework. Read the official trade profile and confirm your circumstances with Skilled Trades Ontario before providing paid haircuts. Course completion should not be advertised as a provincial Certificate of Qualification.

What should be confirmed in your booking?

Check the course, class format, date, Mississauga location, total price, payment terms and cancellation arrangements. Ask about anything you should bring and any needs the team should know beforehand. Request the details before making travel arrangements or payment.
